Replacing Worcestershire's seven councils with a single unitary authority could save more than £20m a year, according to a new report.
A study into local government reorganisation in the county found the one off cost of establishing a single unitary council for the area was £11.9m, while the annual savings would be £20.6m.
Carried out by consultants PwC, the feasibility study also found the one off cost of creating two unitaries to cover Worcestershire would be £16.9m and this would deliver savings of £4.3m per year.
