A lack of capacity is hindering early help services for children and families, a joint report by three watchdogs has found.
The multi-agency report concluded Government reforms to children’s social care should take account of variability between areas, and capacity within health, police and social care agencies.
Ofsted, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire and Rescue Services found partners ‘were not equally engaged in delivering and making decisions’ about the early help services in their area.
