Birmingham City Council is poised to reveal a worse-than-expected financial position as it embarks on a savings drive and ‘inevitable’ job cuts, The MJ has learned.

Birmingham’s treasurer and section 151 officer Fiona Greenway is due to attend the meeting alongside Government-appointed commissioners and is expected to reveal that the council’s financial position has deteriorated due to soaring costs since its emergency planning began.
