Councils managing flood risks have urgently called for £11m cash to plug a ‘widening gap’ in Internal Drainage Board (IDB) funding.

The special interest group for IDBs is lobbying the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) for extra cash so affected councils are not forced to divert tax increases to cover national IDB costs that have soared from £39m last year to £50m.
