Dudley's sustainability 'in jeopardy'

Dudley MBC has set up an improvement board following stark warnings over its finances and governance.

A Local Government Association (LGA) peer review and annual report by external auditor Grant Thornton have both highlighted the perilous state of the council’s finances.

The newly-published peer review stated: ‘Urgent corrective and collective action is required for the council to be financially sustainable in 2025-26 – as currently this is in jeopardy.’
