A local government pensions expert has demanded a meeting with fund managers amid concerns about how investment managers exercise proxy votes at shareholder meetings.

Faith Ward, chief responsible investment officer at the Brunel Pension Partnership, one of local government’s largest pension pools, wants to know why some fund managers have not supported stronger measures to tackle climate change at annual shareholder meetings across the oil and gas industry.

Ms Ward has written to fund managers in her capacity as chair of the UK Asset Owner Roundtable.
