The new Office for Local Government (Oflog) watchdog has proposed to widen its scope to five new service areas.
Oflog’s interim chief executive, Josh Goodman, has written to councils seeking views on the new draft metrics, covering planning, highways, finance and fly-tipping.
Mr Goodman said Oflog would ultimately cover more than 20 service areas covering all aspects of local government, but they would ‘remain open to ongoing challenge and revision’ and draw on existing data to avoid adding new burdens.
