Details have emerged of a bullying probe at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority that found mayor Nik Johnson breached the organisation’s code of conduct.

A summary of an independent investigation by former monitoring officer at Southampton City Council, Mark Heath, has been published, on which a panel based its findings earlier this month.

Mayor Johnson had claimed he did not act following bullying behaviour from an unnamed former employee because he was unaware, but the report found this was ‘implausible,’ adding: ‘The mayor must have been aware of various and serious issues regarding the ex-employee’s conduct.’

Mayor Johnson apologised after the panel hearing earlier this month.
