Kirklees MBC is expected to impose spending controls in a bid to stave off a section 114 notice.

Kirklees is predicted to end the financial year with an overspend of £20m or 5% of its budget.

While this can be covered by the council’s reserves, it would leave just £2m of unallocated reserves left.
