Free webinar: Critical lessons from merging councils in Australia

Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils made history this month after becoming the first two districts in more than 40 years to approve a formal merger.

While other councils look set to follow in their footsteps – members of West Somerset District Council have voted in favour of merging with Taunton Deane – just what are the risks and challenges presented by such large scale change?

Promapp are holding a free webinar outlining what councils in the UK can learn from their Australian counterparts when it comes to implementing successful mergers and partnerships.

Virginia Cross, Manager Program Delivery Support at Central Coast Council, Australia will share how they managed large scale change effectively when they became a ‘super council’ with their merger with neighbouring council, Wyong Shire.

This webinar will also give participants the chance to discover how to put the local community at the centre of new mergers, how to give staff a feeling of ownership over the change, and how process mapping software can facilitate the due diligence process.

The webinar takes place Tuesday 28th February 2017 at 8.30am. Sign up for your free place now.
