Finalists announced for MJ Awards 2015

Over one hundred entries to The MJ's annual local government awards in 16 categories have been selected as finalists, it was announced today.

The categories cover a wide variety of local government services including adult care, children's services, finance, legal, infrastructure, public health and senior management and details of the finalists along with the commended are available at awards.themj.co.uk

The winners in each category will be announced at The MJ Awards gala night on June 18 in London.

Michael Burton, editorial director of The MJ Awards, said: 'Judges had a difficult decision selecting the finalists and commended from what has been a very strong selection of entries and we wish to emphasise our gratitude to all those local authority teams who devoted time and effort to entering our awards despite other pressures on their time.

'For those which did not make it through to the shortlist we can assure their teams that their entries were carefully read by our judges who were impressed by their dedication to their communities during a difficult budgetary environment.'
