A new rental community with 223 family homes is under construction in the suburbs of Leeds.
Casa, Abbey Court, the 2.4 hectare neighbourhood, will include apartments and houses with one to four bedrooms.
The development is run by Casa by Moda, who develop family homes for rent in ‘happy, healthy, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods’ across the UK.
Matt Townson, Casa by Moda’s director of development and projects, said the development will offer residents leases of up to three years, marking ‘a step change in single family rental in Leeds’.
Mr Townson said: ‘During the current periods of economic uncertainty, we believe it’s important to be able to provide our residents a security of tenancy that can only come from our long-term approach.’
Residents at Casa, Abbey Court will also be able to rent the properties with no deposit.
Environmental sensors will be installed in all homes, enabling residents to monitor room temperature, air quality, and light pollution.
Mr Townson said: ‘With demand for rental accommodation remaining high, our approach as a long-term owner and operator is to create not only high quality, sustainable homes, but new communities that go beyond bricks and mortar by actively supporting the wellbeing of our residents.’
Casa by Moda said it plans to work with local authorities and landowners to build more new homes across the UK. As well as in Leeds, it has housing developments planned in Bradford, Manchester and Glasgow.
