Council considers joint venture for environmental services

A joint venture between Daventry District Council and Norse Commercial Services to deliver waste and recycling services is being considered for next year.

The council is exploring new proposals for the way waste bin collections and other environmental services are delivered across the district when its current contract with Amey/Enterprise ends June 2018.

Alongside the preferred option with Norse, the council is also considering proposals to delegate litter-picking in urban areas to interested parish councils.

The council will also consider running the service in-house, appointing an external contractor or sharing an in-house service with one or more other councils when it meets later today.
