Chiefs' new professional development framework launched

The first version of a new professional development framework to keep local government chief executives ‘ahead of the game’ has been launched.

It has been funded by the Government, and developed by senior officers’ group Solace and the Local Government Association.

In his presidential address to the Solace Summit, Matt Prosser said a ‘first-of-its kind’ chief executive training programme was now being developed to cover the core building blocks of the role, with three of the modules to be piloted in the new year.

He said Solace’s ambition was to use the framework, resources and insights from this initial chief executive-focused work to ‘develop the support offer to all of our staff’.
