Friday 11th May sees an official topping-out ceremony to mark the near-completion of the new £26 million Voyager School, Mountsteven Avenue in Walton, Peterborough.
Officiating at the event will be Peterborough City Council leader Councillor John Peach along with representatives from construction company Bouygues UK Ltd.
Councillor Geoff Ridgway, Cabinet member for Education and Children's Services, director of children's services Mohammed Mehmet, headteacher of the Voyager Hugh Howe and chairman of governors Malcolm Groves and headteachers of the closing Bretton Woods and Walton Community schools, John Gribble and John Catton, are among the invited guests.Councillor Ridgway said: "The topping out ceremony is a formal event to mark the progress of construction works at the Voyager School. We look forward to the school opening in September 2007."
