A hidden camera has reportedly been discovered in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The device was found in a communal area of the government building on Marsham Street that houses both the Home Office and the MHCLG.

First reported by the i newspaper, the camera was found behind a ceiling panel within the last two months, with security services said to have been informed.

Home Office sources indicated to the BBC the device was found in MHCLG's section of the building, but not near any ministerial offices.

An MHCLG spokesperson declined to comment, saying: ‘We do not comment on security matters.’
