£205bn cost of eradicating social housing waiting list

The price tag for building a home for each household on English housing waiting lists would be more than £205bn, according to analysis from a consultancy.

JLL’s report found that if existing properties were bought to home the 1.3 million households on waiting lists in England the cost would be an estimated £418bn based on current market rates.
