£2bn finance settlement boost announced image

Councils in England will receive a share of £2bn additional funding next year under the provisional Local Government Finance Settlement announced on Wednesday.

The total includes £515m towards the increase in employer National Insurance contributions, which will be allocated based on ‘each council's share of relevant net service expenditure'.
