iApply

iApply, the UK's first combined planning and building control online submission service went live recently.

Introduced by Idox, a leading supplier of software, services and digital engagement to local planning, building control and licensing authorities, iApply will provide a single-source for all online submissions, which will result in users time and efficiency savings compared to existing methods of submitting applications.

Idox already has more than 90% of UK local authorities as its customers, so adoption of the new product will be straightforward across many regions.

Commented Andrew Riley, Idox's Chief Operating Officer: "Idox is proud to be introducing iApply, a service on which our teams have worked extensively to develop. It's different to anything else on the market and offers a step-change in the planning sector, by providing unrestricted file size, improved validation and transparency, access to submission details and enhanced application tracking and notification. We haven't just simplified the planning process, but changed the way appliers and local authorities interact."

The launch follows extensive pilot trials of iApply in the industry. The local authorities and appliers who have trialled it have been impressed with the results, particularly the time saving offered and the fluidity of the process. This is especially apparent for the large submitters that can have a number of submissions going through the system at any one time.

Commented Gary Morris, Director at WYG, who has been involved with the pilot: "WYG is delighted to see that Idox continues to drive innovation in the field of electronic planning submissions through the development of iApply. New and effective ways to access information will drive efficiency in the way we carry out our town planning services for clients."
