The GMB has revealed it plans to launch 10,000 new equal pay claims across five more councils alongside 40,000 outstanding actions at 28 authorities.
The union said women had so far won more than £1bn in pay challenges thanks to its campaigning and ongoing claims were ‘likely to run into hundreds of millions of pounds' more.
