Cutting staff sickness rates at Birmingham City Council to less than nine days a year could be ‘almost impossible’, according to the cabinet member for equalities and HR, Cllr Alan Rudge.
Cllr Rudge said rates were falling, with an projected average rate of 9.06 days for November, compared with 9.45 days the previous year, but to get them under nine days would be ‘almost impossible’.
