The Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) has concluded that the five councils sitting on the body are not responsible for the liabilities of the region's Teesworks regeneration scheme.

An independent review earlier this year into the finances of scheme concluded that the combined authority and councils lacked clarity over the extent to which they may be liable for the costs arising from the project.
