Section 114 fears for new unitary

A unitary formed two years ago faces a £190m budget gap within the next four years amid section 114 fears.

Somerset Council's interim chief finance officer Maria Christofi warned the local authority faced a £101m gap for 2026-27, which is expected to almost double by 2029-30.
