A firm at the centre of a residential care abuse scandal has reported operating losses of £5.8m for the year to June 2022.

In November 2021, the Hesley Group closed two specialist care homes for autistic children following safeguarding concerns raised by Ofsted and alleged abuse later reported by Doncaster MBC.

Companies House accounts showed the firm’s profit of £7.3m in 2021 turned into a £5.8m loss last year following the closures.
