Regulator calls for substantial planning intervention image

The planning system requires ‘substantial intervention’ by the Government to ensure consistent delivery of new homes, a major study has concluded.

A year-long review of UK housebuilding by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published today raised ‘fundamental concerns’ about the ‘complex’ current planning regime and poor quality housing.
