More money has been offered in the hope of averting strike action by Scottish Unison members.

The union had rejected the offer by the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) accepted by Unite and GMB.

COSLA has now offered to backdate the package, having secured an extra £17.2m following ‘intensive talks’ with the Scottish Government.
