Innovation wins awards

Top awards were announced at last week’s PPMA conference for innovation in HR services.
Leeds City Council won the PPMA’s wellbeing award for employee engagement, while the HR Innovation Award went to Birmingham City Council for its methods of encouraging ideas from staff.
Northern Ireland won the award for the PPMA Region of the Year for stimulating membership growth. The award was also a recognition of the hurdles overcome in challenging segregation and religious discrimination.
Cambridgeshire CC won the total award, Sutton LBC won the talent management category, and Haringey LBC the human capital management category.
The new HR efficiency and business impact award went to Croydon LBC, which also won the award for HR transformation.
And a special outstanding contribution award went to an individual, Alan Warner, of Hertfordshire CC, and to a people management team, the IDeA OD.
