Hyder Consulting announces 47% rise in operating profit
The Birmingham-based consultancy announced operating profits of £14.3m and a 19% rise in revenue to £203.1m in the year to 31 March.
Chief executive, Tim Wade, said: ‘I am pleased to report another excellent year, with results well ahead of last year.
‘Our strategy for increasing the management and advisory services part of the business has delivered a further significant increase in operating margin.’
The company spent £9m buying three companies last year, including the environmental consultancy Cresswell Associates.
One of Hyder Consulting’s major wins was the role of client adviser on the £5bn M25 widening project.
Visitors to Hyder Consulting’s 150th anniversary website have voted Tower Bridge (pictured) as the most significant project carried out by the company in its history.
The famous London landmark, opened in 1894, and John Wolfe Barry and Marc Brunel were heavily involved in its construction.
Mr Barry and Mr Brunel were partners in the firm that went on to become Sir Bruce White, Wolfe Barry and Partners, which become part of Hyder Consulting in 1991.
