A council worker who took part in national sprinting athletics races while signed off work with a bad back has been found guilty of fraud.
Matthew Thomas, 34, was found guilty of defrauding Newham LBC, after it was revealed the payroll officer had taken part in national athletics meetings at Birmingham and Surrey despite being signed off after falling off a ladder.
