Fifteen county areas are bidding to be on Labour's fast-track for new devolution deals and local government reorganisation (LGR) with all applying to postpone May elections to make this possible.

The deadline for regional applications to postpone May's local elections to arrive in Whitehall, in order to be considered for the devolution priority programme, passed on Friday (10 January).
