BBC Trust chairman and former Birmingham City Council chief executive, Sir Michael Lyons, has become a senior director of struggling support services group, Mouchel.
Sir Michael, due to step down at the BBC next year, takes on the Mouchel post as it grapples with a downturn in public sector orders linked to spending cuts and a collapsing share price.
He has been non-executive director since 2003.
