Tandridge District Council has won a High Court injunction ordering the removal of unauthorised static caravans from a site in Warlingham, Surrey.
The final injunction was granted against 25 named defendants at Hill View Manor Park, also known as Highview, on Beech Farm Road.
The judge ordered the land be cleared and restored to its original state, with the exception of four gypsy and traveller pitches that received planning permission in 2019.
The time allowed for compliance varies between one day and three months depending on the defendant.
The judge described the planning breaches as ‘clear and flagrant,’ noting that enforcement and stop notices had previously proved ineffective, and praised council officers for being ‘careful and measured’ in their testimony.
Council leader Catherine Sayer welcomed the ruling, saying officers had put significant time and effort into the case ‘in often very difficult circumstances,’ and that some defendants had deliberately obstructed their inquiries.
