Council staff and members often live ‘in fear of abuse, assault or worse,’ experts have warned.

A study by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) - a network of more than 250 councils across the UK - published today revealed that more than four out of five councillors had experienced intimidation and harassment towards members, officers or other staff from the public.
