The chair of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) has warned ministers’ response to her recommendations has been ‘weak’.
Speaking on the anniversary of the publication of her final report, IICSA chair Alexis Jay said the Government’s failure to implement any of her core recommendations ‘just isn’t good enough’.
Prof Jay’s expert panel made 20 key recommendations following its eight-year and £188m inquiry, which included a detailed investigation into institutional failures to protect children in care, including at council care homes in Nottinghamshire and Lambeth.
