Staffordshire CC and Barnet LBC have confirmed deals with Capita, just days after Birmingham City Council called on its joint venture with the firm to cut £20m a year.
Barnet LBC's cabinet confirmed its outsourcing deal with Capita – part of the authority’s controversial One Barnet programme – on 7 December, while Staffordshire's cabinet voted in favour of a new schools support partnership on 5 December.
But an independent review of Birmingham City Council's joint venture with Capita – Service Birmingham – published on 3 December recommended a £20m annual cut to services.
'Some very good progress has been made,' said deputy leader, Cllr Ian Ward.
'But the bleak financial future that the council faces means we need Service Birmingham to operate as effectively as possible to deliver the innovation and efficiency we need to find from our services to reduce costs and increase value for money.
'The next 12 months will see officers working with Service Birmingham on those areas identified by the review which will enable the partnership to better deliver for the council.'
