A charter aimed at stamping out bad industrial practices in Liverpool's construction industry has won support from the city's mayor.
Firms wanting to build in the city will have to agree the six-point charter drawn up by the unions Unite, Ucatt and the GMB.
They say it is designed to stamp out notorious industry practices such as bogus self-employment schemes.
The three unions were signing the document tomorrow along with the Liverpool's Mayor Joe Anderson at the mayoral office in the historic Cunard Building at the city's Pier Head.
The charter says it expects health and safety standards to be rigorously implemented and that welfare facilities for construction workers will be 'appropriate to the 21st century'.
