Local government minister, Brandon Lewis, has been voted the worst MP on Twitter, being called self-obsessed and tedious by politics.co.uk.
The survey rates the best and worst MPs on Twitter out of a possible score of 30, judging how entertaining, informative, engaging and regular they are.
The website has chosen the local government minister as their worst MP, giving him a score of just five out of 30 for his ‘combination of self-obsession and thundering tedium’.
It said of Lewis’ tweets: ‘The sheer boredom of Lewis' comments prompts lethargy. They are a crime against vitality. His party political tweets suggest an inability to grasp the basic concepts of modern British politics along with rules of grammar and meaning.’
Jamie Reed, shadow health minister, was voted the best MP on twitter, getting a score of 25 out of 30. The survey praised his ability to be ‘mischievous’ and the way he mocks his opponents, while maintaining a frontbench position.
It said: ‘This account is proof positive that reaching the upper levels of politics does not necessarily mean you are a robot.’
