Birmingham settles equal pay claim

Birmingham City Council has reached an agreement over the equal pay claim that pushed it to issue a section 114 notice.

While the council has refused to confirm the final cost of the deal, it is expected to be in the region of £250m – significantly lower than the predicted £750m.
