Thirty-two town centre and high street locations across London have been identified as hotspots for anti-social behaviour, theft and street crime.

The Metropolitan Police identified the locations as part of the Safer Summer Streets initiative which will be delivered in partnership with local authorities.

The force has identified 20 Tier 1 hotspots, including Camden, Finsbury Park, Woolwich and Stratford, which between them account for nearly a tenth of knife crime reports, a quarter of theft reports, and 6% of reports about anti-social behaviour.

Deputy mayor for policing and crime Kaya Comer-Schwartz said the ‘safety of our town centres is more than just policing – it's about building stronger, more connected communities where everyone feels secure’.
