Somerset Waste Partnership has chosen ECT Recycling as a preferred bidder to deliver recycling and waste-collection services for the entire county until 2014.
The decision means one single contract will replace the five different existing collection arrangements and enable Somerset’s local authorities to work closer together on improving waste services.
The contract, which will run for seven years, with a seven-year option, begins in October 2007.
