Transport: £11M to improve Solihull’s services

An £11M scheme to improve public transport between Solihull, Birmingham International Airport (BIA) and the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) was announced this week.

The scheme includes enhanced bus services and improved facilities for passengers to reduce journey times and cut congestion.

New measures announced include a new interchange at Birmingham International station, improving links between trains and buses.

Other parts of the scheme include new bus lanes, improvements to the existing bus corridor, with easier access kerbs for disabled travellers, bus-priority measures to speed up travel time and shared use footways and cycleways to join up routes across the area.
