Traffic management: New chapter for guide

The Highways Agency (HA) has published its revisions to Chapter 8 of the Traffic signs manual.
According to the HA, the updated guidelines will offer ‘clearer’ advice for highways maintenance engineers and contractors for ‘safer and less stressful’ temporary traffic management at road works.
The previous version was published in June 2006, and the agency worked closely with the Department of Transport, the Health and Safety Executive, CSS and other key stakeholders on the updates.
The revisions will be promoted at the Traffex industry event, held on 21-23 April at the NEC in Birmingham.
