Trading standards officers from Barking and Dagenham Council last week confiscated almost 20,000 oversized and illegal disposable vapes from one shop.
Officers visited the Dagenham shop on Thursday and seized a record amount of vapes, worth an estimated retail value of £260,000.
Oversized and unregulated disposable vapes can have potentially dangerous levels of nicotine.
The council said it is currently working hard to remove all oversized and illegal disposable vapes in readiness for a total ban in early 2025.
Cllr Syed Ghani, cabinet member for Enforcement and Community Safety said: ‘Local businesses have a responsibility to make sure they’re selling safe products as well as playing by the rules, and this business clearly isn’t doing that.
‘Oversized and unregulated vapes can have a significant impact on people’s health and could lead to addiction to stronger products, so we’re determined to stamp them out in Barking and Dagenham.’
