Swindon BC’s children’s services have been judged inadequate by Ofsted.
The watchdog found there had been ‘significant deterioration in the quality and impact of services’ since 2019, when the department was rated good.
Ofsted's damning report concluded: ‘Most children in Swindon who need help or protection do not receive sufficiently effective or timely support.’
In its report published today, Ofsted said ‘too many children are left with unassessed needs and risks and plans that drift’ and are not matched with permanent carers quickly enough.
