Streetworks: No need to dig around as NJUG reintroduces guides

The National Joint Utilities Group has reintroduced its guidelines for digging up and replacing road surfaces, in the face of popular demand. In 2006, NJUG launched a review of all its publications, withdrawing the originals for copyright reasons. But, following high demand for their return, the group is now offering an initial four volumes for free download from its website, and is currently working on the final two volumes. The current volumes discuss positioning of underground utility apparatus for new development sites, proximity to trees, colour coding of underground utilities’ apparatus, and the management of third-party cable ducting. As live online documents, they can be quickly amended to incorporate the many and varied changes which occur within the utility industry, from time to time.
