Setting standards Bridging the gap, the fifth annual assembly of standards committees, will be opened by local government minister, Phil Woolas. Mr Woolas will outline his proposals for the future of local government at the two-day conference starting on 16 October, which will be hosted by the Standards Board at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
