Savings find home

Birmingham City Council has saved £30m after awarding housing maintenance contracts to four companies lasting until 2015.

The contracts include repairs and maintenance for 40,000 council homes across the city, as well as gas contracts covering repairs and installation. The companies are Inspace Partnerships, part of the Willmott Dixon Group, Morrison Facilities Services, Mears Group and PH Jones.
