The event was organised by Jewellery and Silverware West Midlands, a regional forum of jewellers and silversmiths who form part of AWMs’ High Value Added Consumer Products cluster.
With partners, the British Jewellers’ Association, the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre and Birmingham council, the event included a presentation by Paola de Luca, creative director of forecaster TJF on how buying patterns are likely to develop from 2007.
The work of seven up-and-coming West Midlands designers who have been working in collaboration with local manufacturers through Birmingham City Council’s Equal project were also on display at the School of Jewellery.
The High Value Added Consumer Products cluster supports companies from sectors which represent 2,500 businesses and directly employ 48,400 people.
