Councils fear scarce resources will be stretched to breaking point by Government requests for visits to funeral directors.
Local authorities have been asked to provide assurance over the largely unregulated industry, following arrests at a Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull over suspected fraud and ‘prevention of a decent burial’.
