RWM 2017

UK’s leading non-domestic energy supplier sponsors the Utilities Keynote seminar theatre in the show’s new Supply & Demand zone.

Leading UK non-domestic energy supplier, British Gas Business, has come on-board for the newly repositioned RWM 2017 exhibition, the UK’s biggest event for resource efficiency. British Gas Business has been announced as the Gold Sponsor of the Utilities Keynote Theatre, and a key executive from the company will speak at a seminar in the theatre in RWM’s new Supply & Demand Zone, on Wednesday 13 September.

The Utilities Keynote Theatre seminar sessions provide the platform for UK energy and water leaders to share their insights into the latest industry developments. Topics to be debated across the three-day RWM event include energy supply, pricing, energy storage, renewable innovations, water deregulation and future visions.

Mike Chessum, Director of Sales, British Gas Business, said, “As a market leader in the non-domestic energy market supporting more than 400,000 business customers, we know how much potential energy holds for businesses. That’s why we’re supporting this event; we want to show how energy is far more than just a cost. It can be a source of value, resilience and real competitive advantage.”

At RWM 2017, British Gas Business will have experts on hand to offer businesses tailored advice on the most effective ways of purchasing and managing energy as well as self-generation.

Nicola Meadows, RWM event director, Ascential, said, “We are delighted to welcome British Gas Business on board – the support of this key company in the UK energy market demonstrates the value and insight that RWM 2017 visitors and exhibitors can gain from the Supply & Demand zone and the show as a whole.

“As the global community looks to move towards a One Planet Living solution, we must consider both the original source and the management of the finite resources we have available to us. We aim to bring together decision-makers and innovators from the Energy, Water, Recycling, Renewables and Waste Management communities and offer unparalleled opportunities for networking and learning.”

In addition to the Utilities Keynote Theatre, confirmed themes for other seminar theatre sessions at RWM 2017 are:

Utilities in Practice Theatre: This case study-led seminar programme seeks to support visitors with practical, peer-led insight into how to drive efficiency, create value and deliver compliant water, energy and renewables services.

Circular Economy Theatre: Focusing on how the principles of circular economy can be applied to maximise value and the sustainable use of resources.

Energy from Waste Theatre: Sharing best practice, technological advances, and changes to the global political and economic landscapes which impact this evolving sector.

Municipal and Materials Recovery Theatre: The platform for resource and waste industry experts from both the public and private sector to come together and discuss creative techniques to drive recycling rates.

Speaker details and event timings for all seminar theatre sessions will be announced soon. The expanded RWM 2017 event, run in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), takes place from 12 to 14 September at the NEC Birmingham. This year the previously co-located Energy Event, Water Event, and Renewables Event have been combined with RWM – an expansion that reflects the merging and overlapping business opportunities in these sectors.

The event features six dedicated zones: Supply & Demand; Data, Tech & Services; Energy from Waste; Handling & Logistics; Machinery & Equipment; and Recyclers & Reprocessors. In addition, four visitor discovery trails identify key exhibitors for audiences looking for a specific service, or a more organised experience – the Energy Solutions trail, the Water Marketplace trail, the Local Authority Solutions trail, and the Exhibitor Discovery trail.

As well as the seminar theatre sessions, RWM 2017 also offers the RWM Connects meetings service, and the CIWM Resource and Waste Clinic.
